Algeria on Wednesday hailed its bilateral relations with China which have been enhanced by the comprehensive strategic partnership established in 2014.

As the upcoming China-Africa Cooperation Forum will be held in Beijing from July 28 to 30, "we have managed together to build comprehensive strategic relations, covering almost all areas of cooperation," Algerian Minister of Maghreb Affairs Abdelkader Messahel told a press conference.

He said the bilateral cooperation has reached an important level after President Abdelaziz Bouteflika paid several visits to China.

China and Algeria have reached a new stage of bilateral ties following the strategic partnership established in 2014, part of the celebration of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties.

Messahel said he is to lead the Algerian delegation to attend the forum this week, adding that he will meet with Chinese top officials to discuss issues including the fight against terrorism.

The official said the forum is mainly devoted to assessing the implementation of recommendations, resolutions and programs adopted at the 6th China-Africa Cooperation Summit held in Johannesburg, South Africa last March.

China pledged during the summit to invest 60 billion U.S. dollars across Africa, a step seen by observers as a strong signal from Beijing to reinforce its relations between Africa.
