Facebook drone completes test flight in Arizona
Facebook said Thursday that it has completed a successful test of a solar-powered drone intended to help create communications networks that will provide poor areas with internet service.
Facebook's lightweight drone flew at an altitude of about 9,800 meters for 96 minutes in Yuma, Arizona. The drone is designed to fly for three months at an altitude of about 18,000 meters.
Facebook hopes to deploy a fleet of the drones to help get more people online.
