The exhibition Roots, Dreams, and Inspirations - An Artistic Journey, which features 31 drawings by 25 Chinese American students from seven U.S. cities, kicked off at the New Beijing Qingzhan Art Gallery in Beijing's 798 Art District on Tuesday.
First unveiled in April at New York's famous Chelsea Rogue Space Gallery, the show has attracted attention from figures such as Terry Lau, the deputy mayor of Marlboro, New Jersey and Kevin O' Hanlon, president of the Rogue Foundation.
The week-long exhibition is sponsored by institutions including the Art Development Center under China's Ministry of Culture and the China Central Academy of Fine Arts' Education Development Foundation.
Through pencils, water colors, ink, polypropylene and digital art, the artworks on display are an attempt to capture the beauty of the Broken Rainbow Bridge, an ancient bridge located outside the Forbidden City's southern entrance - the Gate of Supreme Harmony.
