Editor's note: As torrential rains flooded provinces across China over recent days, some heartwarming stories emerged and gave us confidence in fighting the extreme weather.

Where there's a wedding, there's a way

They say a couple that goes through the following circumstances on their wedding day might withstand any "storms" in their marriage.

When his wedding day was disrupted by torrential rains on Saturday, Li Shengping, the 25-year-old groom, came up with the idea to pick up his bride by rubber boat in Xinzhou, a suburban district of Wuhan city, Central China's Hubei province, the local Chutian Metropolis Daily reported.

Li sat in the boat with an umbrella and made it to the bride's house with the help of his friends, who waded through waist-high water by pushing the boat. The groom finally made it to the bride's house but the rain kept falling more heavily.

For safety, the couple decided to quit the rubber boat and use an idle bulldozer in the bride's village instead. They climbed into the cab with five other friends and relatives standing in the shovel end and the driver drove the vehicle across the flooded street and took the group to the national highway, which is over two kilometers away.

After their story went viral online, netizens sent their best wishes to the couple, with many calling it "a romantic experience".

"This kind of an experience is definitely worth remembering for a lifetime," a Sina Weibo user named Monster_Tzy commented.
