Ten people have died and seven have been rescued so far, after heavy rain caused a landslide in a village in southwest China's Guizhou Province Friday morning.

Twenty-nine people were buried by debris when the landslide occurred around 5:30 a.m. in Pianpo Village, Dafang County, in the city of Bijie. As of 5 p.m., rescuers had pulled 17 people out of the rubble, but 10 were pronounced dead at the scene, according to county government.
