With the No. 43 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, the Houston Rockets selected Chinese player Zhou Qi, meawhile the Memphis Grizzlies selected Wang Zhelin with the 57th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft here on Friday.
"Be aggressive. That's what Steve Francis told me the first day I entered NBA," former Rockets star Yao Ming told Zhou Qi.
With 7'2 height 7'8 wingspan, Zhou is the largest ever seen at the NBA Combine. He averaged 15.8 points, 9.8 rebounds and 3.2 blocks in the Chinese Basketball Association last season with Xinjiang.
Wang Zhelin, the 22-year-old center averaged "20+10" in the first three seasons playing in Fujian, but he only grabbed 10 points and six rebounds due to injuries last season.
The Philadelphia 76ers took LSU's Ben Simmons with No. 1 overall pick. Simmons became the franchise's first top pick in the draft since Allen Iverson was taken No. 1 in the 1996 draft.
"I'm happy to be part of the family now," Simmons said. "It's a weight off my chest. I've been looking forward to this day for a while, so I'm glad I've made history, not only for myself but my family and Australian basketball."
The Los Angeles Lakers selected Duke freshman Brandon Ingram with the No. 2 overall pick. California freshman Jaylen Brown was selected by the Boston Celtics with the No. 3 overall pick.
