China and the United States will enhance their cooperation against illegal wildlife trade by strengthening law enforcement and increasing public awareness, officials of the two nations said at the Eighth Round of China-U.S. Strategic and Economic Dialogues on Monday.

The two countries agreed to work together to block illegal sales of marine species such as totoaba and sea turtles, and enhance domestic law enforcement to eliminate the profit motive associated with wildlife poaching and illegal trade, China's State Forestry Administration said in a statement to Xinhua.

The two nations will also team up with the international community to stem illegal wildlife trade, according to the statement.
