Students preparing for Chinese college entrance examinations, or better known in China as "gaokao", can enjoy a safe and special car hailing service from Tuesday to Wednesday.

Examinees in 13 cities across the country, including Beijing, Shanghai and Qingdao in Shandong province, can take advantage of the service after applying for coupons provided on Qihoo 360's social platform.

Applicants in Beijing can apply for two coupons, 30 yuan ($4.5) for each, while those in the other 12 cities can apply for two coupons worth 10 yuan each.

Wang Dan, responsible for the activity in the enterprise, said on Friday that what they want is to reduce examinees' concern on traffic jams during their commute to take their exams.

"We will send the successful applicants their coupons by text messages. The 650 drivers from our partner, Didi Chuxing, a leading online car-hailing service, will drive them to take their exams," Wang said.

It can be said that a number of successful applicants will enjoy a free trip on their way to the exam places, "because the value of coupons we provide can cover a lot of the trip," she said.

"All the cars are black and labeled with green-and-orange signs, aiming to let other vehicles give way for examinees to ensure the students arrive at their exam on time," she added.

Kou Hongwei, a Beijing volunteer for the car service, said that the most important thing for students is their safety.

"We'll contact the coupon applicants ahead of the exams to double checks their exam locations," said Kou.
