A man recruiting 5,000 best men on the streets of Chengdu got people's attention on Sunday, reported chinanews.com.

The man, named Wang Jiang, appeared on the street with a poster. The poster said men who sign up to be a best men at his wedding need to kneel down and write "Mother-in-law is mother" a hundred times.

Wang said the writing is a reminder for all the men to not only respect and care about their parents, but also care about their parents-in-laws.

Wang, 38, said he has gone through a tough road spending eight years to finally have a spouse. He married in February and planned to have a wedding with over 10,000 people to create a new Guinness World Record.

Wang said, "I hope my wedding can be an opportunity for all the best men and bridesmaids who are single to know each other and have chemistry."

Wang told chinadaily.com.cn so far there are over 600 men who have signed up to be best men and over a hundred signed up to be bridesmaids.

He also revealed the wedding fee can be sponsored by other organizations and individuals.

As for his bride and mother-in-law, "they know about this event and my mother-in-law said she wishes us well," said Wang.
