The Forbes 5-star rated Spa at Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai is delighted to introduce a new Inner Strength spa treatment starting from May 5, 2016.

The spa treatment, featuring the Inner Strength oil, is personally created by Aromatherapy Associates' founder Geraldine Howardto, Co-founder & President of Aromatherapy Associates, to help her cope during her own battle with cancer. Geraldine Howardto is a world-class expert in developing aromatherapy products and treatments, with over 35 years' experience.

The ingredients used in the oil build strength, inspire courage and induce a positive state of mind. This new full-body treatment incorporates a variety of massage techniques designed to ease physical tensions and emotional anxiety. The application of a heated compress warms and nurtures the core, quiets the mind and brings focus inward for a more meditative and relaxed state.

Aromatherapy Associates' Inner Strength oil is used throughout the treatment to bolster feelings of resilience and fortitude in the face of many stresses in life. With a powerful blend of ingredients that includes calming clary sage and frankincense for focus and clarity, fortifying cardamom and rosemary, and healing rose, vetivert, and geranium; the oil helps to balance the emotions and encourage inspiration. The treatment concludes with attention to the reflex points in the feet to make guests feel more grounded and to awaken the senses.

The award-winning Aromatherapy Associates has been at the forefront of the aromatherapy industry for over 25 years. From sourcing ingredients to product development and blending, Aromatherapy Associates maintains the highest standards and delivers an aromatherapy experience that is both effective and luxurious.

Some of the world's finest hotel and destination spas have benefited from the company's in-depth knowledge of the healing powers of natural plant extracts, and the potent ability of essential oils to enhance physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

In keeping with the Group's integrated mind-body approach to wellness, Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai becomes the first property of the Group in mainland China to introduce the Inner Strength treatment, which is a perfect addition to the existing spa menu. It has been designed to promote rejuvenation and empowerment, and is particularly suited to anyone facing a challenging period in their lives.

The Inner Strength treatment was firstly launched in October 2014, in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness month at the Group's spas in Atlanta, Barcelona, Boston, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, London, Las Vegas, Miami, New York, Paris, Prague, Singapore and Washington.

Now Guests enjoying the treatment at The Spa at Mandarin Oriental Pudong can choose from either an 80-miute or a 110-minute treatment.

Covering an area of 2,415 sqm, The Spa offers 13 exclusive single, couple and VIP Spa Suites, each with a private dressing room, en suite and steam shower. The VIP Suite makes a perfect setting for Spa Parties for up to eight friends or family members.
