Jizhou, a small city in Hebei Province, is looking to attract Beijing audiences to its first ever music festival, which will be held on September 16-17, the city's mayor Shi Yingjun announced at a press conference in Beijing on Monday.
The first Flower Music Festival is scheduled be held at the Hengshui Lake Park, a national-level nature reserve park three hours drive south of Beijing.
The mayor explained that the event is looking to learn from other well known music festivals around the world, such as Hebei Province's Zhangbei Grassland Inmusic Festival, which has gained in popularity and reputation among rock'n'roll fans in recent years.
Organizers estimate that the festival will attract a total of 50,000 attendees. Areas for tents and recreational vehicles have also been designated.
The full list of performers has yet to be announced, but organizers have confirmed that folk singer Zhao Zhao and singer Zhang Yu will perform.
