China's top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng met with Nepalese Prime Minister K. P. Sharma Oli in Beijing on Wednesday, pledging to jointly promote mutually beneficial cooperation.

Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), noted that President Xi Jinping met with Oli and Premier Li Keqiang held talks with him during the visit, and reached important consensus on future development of bilateral ties and reinforcement of pragmatic cooperation in all fields.

He suggested the two sides earnestly implement the new consensus and regard each other as good friends of mutual trust in politics, good partners of common development in economy, and good neighbors of mutual support in security.

The CPPCC National Committee is willing to enhance exchanges with the Nepalese parliament to increase mutual understanding and jointly push forward bilateral friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation so as to benefit the two peoples, said Yu.

Oli said Nepal-China friendship has a long history and developing relations with China is the consensus shared by all political parties of Nepal.

Noting that his visit has achieved fruitful results, Oli said bilateral ties will embrace a new period of sound development.

During his visit, Oli will also attend the annual Boao Forum for Asia in China's southern province of Hainan.
