Over the last three years, courts have ensured settlements totaling over 3.2 trillion yuan (500 billion U.S. dollars).

The Supreme People's Court (SPC) on Tuesday issued a report on the implementation of court orders between 2013 and 2015. People's courts nationwide, the report said, had accepted 10.1 million cases in this regard and concluded enforcement in 9.44 million of them over the three years.

The report said debtors' lack of assets and intentional defaults are among the major obstacles enforcers face, noting that the online system that monitors settlements needs to be improved.

The SPC pledged more effective measures to address these issues and boost public's confidence in the judicial system.
