The ISU Junior World Cup Speed Skating Final 2015/2016 will take place in Changchun this weekend.

A total of 105 junior speed skaters from 18 countries and regions have confirmed to compete in the event, some of which are expected to emerge medals favorites at the 2022 Winter Olympics.

Han Mei, who claimed three silver medals at the Lillehammer Youth Winter Games last month, will spearhead the Chinese squad of 10 skaters at the two-day World Cup event.

"We have prepared well for the competition," Chinese team official Li Jiajun told Xinhua on Thursday.

"Our young athletes are eager to deliver their best performance in front of home spectators and thus encourage more people to take up skating."

But Li added that the Chinese team didn't set any target for medals.
