Former NBA star Stephen Marbury did his best with a game-high 29 points, but defending champion Beijing failed to make the semifinals as they lost at home to Xinjiang 103-94 in their fourth tie of Chinese Basketball Association league (CBA) playoffs on Sunday.

Xinjiang advanced with 3-1 win in the best-of-five series, and managed to revenge their loss to Beijing in the CBA finals in 2014.

Xinjiang started a 12-2 run at the beginning, which delivered them the lead in all the game. Beijing tried to win back with 30-18 in the third quarter, but they still fell behind in total.

Beijing's Randolph Morris managed a 79-79 tie in last quarter. However, Xinjiang widened the gap again and smiled to the end.

Marbury, 39, got the game-high 29 points and four rebounds, and Randolph Morris added 26 points and 9 rebounds.

Andray Blatche claimed a team-high 26 points and 7 rebounds for Xinjiang. Bryce Cotton and Li Gen collected 18 points respectively.

Xinjiang will face Sichuan in the semifinals where Guangdong will take on Liaoning.
