International Channel Shanghai will broadcast its "Year of the Monkey" themed Spring Festival Gala on February 6. This year's event will feature hilarious skits and innovative performances of both Chinese and foreign pop songs.
Young foreign students of Peking Opera in Shanghai will also perform with celebrated Peking Opera artist Shang Changrong.
As an international program, the gala is aimed at both Chinese and foreign viewers. Foreign audiences can learn more about Chinese Spring Festival customs such as the giving of "lucky money" and other traditional holiday gifts.
The ICS Spring Festival Gala will also be broadcast on overseas media outlets, including GETV, SinoVision, Australia Plus, Crossings TV as well as online video platform Youtube.
