The local police station in Hunchun, a border city in northeast China's Jilin province, received a call at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, saying that a beast appeared in Shuguang village. The police arrived at the scene immediately and confirmed that it was a young Amur leopard which looked tired and hungry.

The local forestry department came to feed the leopard and planned to release the young leopard into the forest after it recovered.

The Shuguang village is located in the nature reserve area where wild animals such as Siberian tigers and Amur leopards are often seen.
