Chinese Ambassador to Kenya Liu Xianfa has vowed to renew and enhance the Sino-Africa relations by implementing the pledges China has made at the recently concluded Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

Liu told a meeting of African envoys in Nairobi that the summit which was held in Johannesburg represents a new era of China-Africa win-win cooperation and common development.

"As a result, practical measures are always enjoying a high priority in Sino-Africa relations," Liu said.

He noted that China-Africa relations have today reached a stage of growth unmatched in history.

He said the 2.4 billion people from China and Africa are determined to develop a new model of international relations that is based on mutually beneficial cooperation.

"Both parties are willing to develop a community of a shared future and shared interest for mankind," he said.

The Chinese ambassador said his nation will assist Africa to find African solutions for African problems.

Zimbabwe's Ambassador to Kenya Kelebert Nkomani said Sino-Africa cooperation is based on comprehensive cooperation with both parties on an equal basis.

Nkomani said the Johannesburg Action Plan from the FOCAC will enhance Sino-Africa relations in all sectors including commercial, security and people to people cooperation.

He said China is a true friend of Africa due to its policy of non interference with domestic affairs of African nations.

The envoy noted that China supported Africa during its liberation wars to achieve independence from imperialists.

"China is also helping Africa to protect its independence through helping the continent grow its economies," he said.

Nkomani, who is also the Acting Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Kenya, said infrastructure is a key pillar of the Sino-Africa relations.

"We therefore welcome the assistance accorded by China in the development of railways, roads and airports," he noted.
