People who play computer games too much can be said to be wasting their lives, but one young man in Anhui province nearly squandered his second chance at life with a transplanted kidney in order to spend his medical fees on gaming, Hangzhou Daily reported on Monday.

A mother gave one of her kidneys to her 20-year-old son who was suffering from uremia two years ago. The surgery was successful and the young man felt no different than healthy men except that he had to take medicine every day.

Occasionally, the son forgot to take the pills. Seeing nothing serious happened, he began to save money by reducing medicine and treatment, and used the money to play games at Internet bars.

This year, some new symptoms began to emerge and medical examination shows that the transplanted organ is no longer functional.

Now the man has to rely on dialysis to keep him alive.
