An exhibition on culture and arts along Maritime Silk Road opened in Quanzhou Maritime Museum on November 8, making a splash in the ongoing Asia Arts Festival.

With the theme of "Breathing Blue", the event consists of five sections that highlight the historical route starting from Quanzhou. They include "The Start of the Maritime Silk Road-Civilization of the Far East", "The Crossroad, Legend of the South Sea", "The Transfer of the Route Legacy of the Ancient Countries", "Middle East & Gulf Civilization of West Asia" and "The Destination of the Route Connection to Africa and Europe".

Hundreds of artworks are on display, including paintings, traditional dresses, handicrafts, sculptures and photos, from 28 countries.

Deputy minister of Chinese Ministry of Culture Ding Wei, vice-governor of Fujian province Li Hong, assistant director of External Relations of Ministry of Culture Wang Chen and other guests from both home and overseas visited the exhibition.
