Heavy fog disrupts air traffic in NE China city

Heavy fog disrupted air traffic in the northeastern Chinese port city of Dalian on Saturday, affecting more than 7,000 passengers, local airport said.

By 9 p.m., 15 flights have landed at other airports, 12 have returned and 236 flights have been canceled, the Dalian international airport said in a statement.

The airlines have provided free accommodation and meals for the affected passengers.

The flights are expected to resume from 2 to 3 a.m. Sunday as the weather is forecast to clear up.
