A man tried to take a cool picture of himself on train tracks, which forced a coming train to use the emergency brake, reported on Thursday.

The man is a 19-year-old waiter at a karaoke bar. He climbed over the protective net and got on the Beijing-Shanghai train track to take some cool pictures of himself.

He found a wood stick, which he used as a selfie stick and attached his phone. Suddenly, a train was seen coming towards him as he jumped for his photos. He immediately took the phone off and jumped off the train tracks to avoid getting hit by the train.

The train driver noticed the wood stick on the tracks and took action to stop the train.

The man has been fined 500 yuan ($83) and scolded by the police.
