Zhang Suzhou, former President and Party Chief of the Anhui Broadcasting Corporation, stood trial for suspected graft on Tuesday, according to a local court.

The Intermediate People's court of Huainan city in east China's Anhui province heard that Zhang, born in 1953, allegedly used his power to misappropriate more than 3.4 million yuan (about 520,700 U.S. dollars).

He also took bribes from advertising companies, TV producers and singers when serving as president of the Anhui Broadcasting Corporation and head of the Anhui provincial administrative bureau of radio, film and television between April 2006 and July 2014. During that period, he was suspected of receiving 11.4 million yuan, 47,000 U.S. dollars, 2,000 euro, gift cards worth 179,000 yuan, as well as gold bars, jadeware and a watch with a combined value of 1.07 million yuan.

He said that he admitted to the charges filed by the local procuratorate, and would not appeal.
