Prosecutors have amended more than 3,937 cases which had incorrect court verdicts to prevent miscarriages of justice since 2010, according to the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP).
The corrected verdicts include 3,363 with errors in jail terms and 574 with wrong judgments, according to the SPP.
Prosecutors have meanwhile accepted 93,228 cases involving reports and complaints since 2010, the SPP said.
"Prosecuting departments at all levels have attached great importance to protecting the suspects' legitimate rights to sue, report or complain," SPP President Cao Jianming told lawmakers during the bimonthly session of the National People's Congress Standing Committee.
He said prosecutors set up a publicity column in the detention house and notified suspects of their legitimate rights.
In addition, they regularly met with the suspects to learn about their situation, and smoothed channel to handle reports and complaints.
He said the SPP issued a guideline in February instructing prosecutors to correct court mistakes and prevent miscarriages of justice.
"We will pay attention to investigating cases involving suspects' complaining over a long period or rejecting a commutation of their sentence, and listening to their complains to conduct further investigations," he added.
