A pregnant woman from from Qingdao in Shandong province used the embryo she and her husband froze ten years ago at a local hospital to have her second child.

In 2005, the woman, surnamed Huang from Qingdao in Shandong province, was 37 and could not get pregnant despite being married for five years. The couple turned to the Qingdao Women and Children's Hospital Reproductive Center to help give birth to a test-tube daughter. They also paid to freeze unused embryos.

As China loosens its policy on family planning, the couple is now eligible to have a second child. They visited the hospital in February to activate the frozen embryos.

It's the first such successful case in Qingdao and also a rare case for China, reports news.qq.com.
