Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Ahmad Zahid said here Thursday that Malaysian authorities are hunting for three more suspects in the deadly Bangkok bombing in August, according to local media report.

The Star, a Malaysian English language newspaper, quoted Zaid as saying that the Thai authorities gave three names to the Malaysian side during their meeting.

"We have met the Thai authorities and discussions have been completed. There are three names given to us and we are on the hunt for the individuals," he said.

"However, what we need now is their biometric data and any DNA evidence to ease the process of their identification and arrests," Zaid said, adding that the suspects could be linked directly or indirectly to the bombing.

"They could have direct involvement with the bomber or they could just be a taxi driver who brought anyone involved here," he said.

Malaysian authorities have detained eight individuals over the bombing so far. The explosion at the Erawan Shrine in downtown Bangkok killed at least 20 people and injured more than 120 others.
