Five people sustained minor injuries and were sent to hospital on Sunday as nine boats caught fire at a typhoon shelter at Hong Kong's Shau Kei Wan.

The fire broke out at around 14:00 in Shau Kei Wan typhoon shelter. Palls of black smoke could be seen billowing from the scene and explosions were heard.

Firefighters rushed to the site and the fire was put under control about two hours after it broke out. It's not yet known what caused the fire.
