One Chinese national confirmed dead in hajj stampede

The Chinese foreign ministry has confirmed that a Chinese national was killed in the hajj stampede. Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said Friday that China sends condolences to all of the victims.

Hong Lei, spokesman of Chinese Foreign Ministry said:"China is deeply saddened by the high casualties of the stampede. As far as I know, one Chinese national is among the pilgrims killed. We express our deepest condolences to all victims, their families and the injured. We want to remind pilgrims to ensure their own safety. The Chinese embassy in Saudi Arabia will continue to follow the developments, and work with the Chinese Hajj group to handle follow-up works properly."
