A direct air route will open in October between Fuzhou, capital of eastern China's Fujian province, and the Thai capital Bangkok.

The flight will depart every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, according to Chunqiu Airlines, China's first low-cost airline company.

Its first flight is scheduled for Oct. 26, it said. Single trips will cost 199 yuan (about 31 US dollars). Currently, an economic-class seat operated by other airliners costs around 3800 yuan (about 600 US dollars).

Statistics show Thailand is one of the top destinations for outbound Chinese tourists.

Chunqiu airlines operates 137 flights, 30 percent of which are international. It has 54 airplanes.
