Three Chinese nationals were injured in Friday's crane collapse that killed 107 and injured 238 pilgrims at Mecca's Grand Mosque in Saudi Arabia, media reported Sunday.

China's pilgrim team confirmed to news website thepaper.cn on Sunday that no Chinese citizens have been found dead so far. Two people were injured by objects the tower crane threw when it toppled while a third panicked and fell.

About 14,500 Chinese Muslims traveled to Mecca for their annual pilgrimage this year.

Saudi authorities said on Saturday that Islam's annual hajj pilgrimage will not be affected by the collapse, the Xinhua News Agency reported.

Prince Khalid Al Faisal, the Mecca governor and head of the central hajj committee, has ordered renovations of the damage that was caused by the deadly incident, the report said.

It said the crane collapsed while working on the expansion operations at the Grand Mosque, an undertaking which was aimed at accommodating the ever-increasing number of pilgrims from all over the world. It said more than 909,000 pilgrims had arrived in Mecca for this year's hajj, expected to start on September 21.

The crane was found to be brought down by strong wind and heavy rain, after an "immidiate and urgent" investiagion, the Saudi Press Agency quoted a spokesperson for the two holy mosques as saying.
