2015 Beijing World Championships in Athletics brought to a successful close on the night of Aug. 30, 2015. The air quality during the game was excellent. "I am so happy to see the blue sky everyday!" Juan Manuel Alonso, Chairman of the IAAF Medical and Anti-Doping Commission spoke highly of the air quality in Beijing.

The air quality safeguard measures have been carried out since Aug. 20, 2015. Private vehicles are banned from the roads every other day according to their plate number, and many construction sites are shut down. The air quality has been excellent. Beijing's PM 2.5 reaches record low for 10 consecutive days, which is comparable with some developed countries in the world, such as London and Paris.

"We are so happy to see the blue sky everyday!" Alonso was impressed with Beijing's blue sky and was very satisfied with the air quality safeguard measures in Beijing. "Our staff inspected the statistics released by the air quality monitoring sites everyday and we found that the value of all pollutants are far below the standard."
