Liu Hong walks her to China's first gold

Liu Hong secures China's first gold medal at the Beijing athletics world championships after winning the women's 20km race walk on Friday morning.

Liu held a lead during the whole course and finished the race with 1:27:45 hours. She was followed by another Chinese Lu Xiuzhi who won the silver medal.

As the world record holder in the Olympic 20km distance with a time of 1:24:38 hours, Liu won medals at the World Championships in 2009, 2011 and 2013.
