Death toll of SW China coal mine accident rises to 12

The death toll of a gas outburst at a coal mine in southwest China's Guizhou Province has risen to 12, as two more bodies were retrieved.

Rescuers are rushing to locate the last missing person.

The outburst occurred at around 7:50 p.m. on Tuesday at a coal mine in Louxia Township of Pu'an County. A total of 56 people have safely reached the surface.

Further investigation is underway.
