Two female giant pandas gave birth to two male panda twins on Sunday in a giant panda breeding center in southwest China's Sichuan Province, the third and fourth twin cubs born here this year.

A total of nine cubs have been born this year at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in the capital of Sichuan Province, including four twins.

Jingjing, one of the giant pandas that gave birth on Sunday, got her first pregnancy. The cubs were born at 5:40 a.m. and 6:12 a.m. respectively, weighing 171.5 grams and 163.5 grams.

Another panda called Siyuan, in her second pregnancy, gave birth to the twin cubs at 11:12 a.m. and 11:35. The first weighs 174.1 grams and the second, 180.4 grams.

So far 165 giant panda cubs have been born in the base, which boasts the world's largest giant panda breeding community, with 144 giant pandas now.
