Napoleon Bonaparte may have lost the Battle of Waterloo to the Duke of Wellington, but accounts tell us that of the two great generals, Napoleon was much more fun to be around! It explains why legions of biographers have kept busy for the past 200 years telling and retelling his life.

More than 280 items from Bonaparte's private collections are on display in a museum in Shenyang in Northeast China's Liaoning Province.

Dubbed "The Eagle across Europe", the exhibition includes sculptures, paintings, documents, clothing, and furniture. It is a mirror into the mindset of this complex man, the wars he fought, and the significant people at his side. The exhibition runs for four months.
