Guangzhou R&F's manager Cosmin Contra saw his team's debut after returning to the Yuexiu Mountain Stadium sabotaged as they were beaten by Shanghai SIPG 3-2 in the 18th round of the Chinese Super League in Guangzhou on Sunday.
Conca, formly of R&F's city rivals Guangzhou Evergrande, put SIPG ahead just 11 minutes into the game as his brilliant long shot beat R&F's goalkeeper Liu Dianzuo.
Guangzhou R&F missed the golden opportunity in the beginning of the second-half as Jiang Ning's shot was denied by Yan Junling.
R&F's Jang Hyun Soo pulled the goal back as he sent his low shot from Jeremy Bokila's back-heeled pass into the net in the 74th minute.
DR Congo's striker Bokila gifted R&F the leading position as his shot past Yan Junling again in the 77th minute.
But SIPG shattered R&F's bid to win the game in the last five minutes as the Lv Wenjun scored the last-gasp winner in the stoppage time before Conca scored the equalizer in the 88th minute.
Guangzhou R&F rank the 10th place with 20 points after 18 rounds while Shanghai SIPG place the second.
