PhD students at Tsinghua University who want to set up their own businesses will be granted time away from their studies for up to three years, one year more than before, the Beijing Youth Daily reported.
According to the university's newest policy, creative students with an enterprising spirit will get more support.
However, the application process for breaks remains strict. Students who want a break must have a just cause, and hand in the appropriate application materials.
The qualification will be finally determined by both supervisors and deans.
