This year, the percentage of college graduates targeted in military recruitment will be increased from 60 to 70 percent, the Beijing Youth Daily reported.
Military recruitment begins on August 1, and in Beijing, those applicable for military recruitment have to have a high school diploma.
Male college grads and current students ages from 18 to 24, and female students from 17 to 22 can enter the military.
They can choose to apply in the city where they study or where they have registered residency.
Qualified candidates will be granted enrollment by a local government recruiting office, and the start date is on September 1.
