Chinese customs has caught a Colombian drug trafficker with 5 kg of cocaine, customs announced on Wednesday ahead of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on Friday.

The 71-year-old suspect, arriving from Inchon in the Republic of Korea headed for Xi'an, was caught at Liuting International Airport in Qingdao as he changed planes, according to the Qingdao customs in east China's Shandong Province.

Sniffer dogs found 5 kg of cocaine inside 12 pockets that sewn into his underwear.

The case is the largest of its kind in Qingdao in terms of the weight of drugs.
