Less than 50,000 people visited the Palace Museum on June 13, the day the museum activated its plan to limit the number of visitors to under 80,000 each day, the Beijing News reported.

During the summer peak season, the Palace Museum sends early warnings to visitors when the visitor number exceeds 64,000. When off-season begins in November, the museum will give visitors who book tickets online a half price discount.
