China's head coach Hao Wei said on Wednesday that his side will take a more attacking approach when they meet the Netherlands in their second group game.

China, who fielded a solid mass defense, lost to Canada due to a stoppage-time penalty scored by Christine Sin in the World Cup opener on Saturday. Hac said his side has to change their tactics in the game against the Netherlands on Thursday.

"If we want to win, we have to improve our attack, we practised a lot on that. I will make some changes to our approach to the game," he said.

"We have worked out some special plan for the game against the Netherlands, we have put the last game behind us and prepared ourselves well for the next game," he said.

"The players are in good mood and good form. I hope we could squeeze a win from the game, making it easier for us to qualify for the knockout stage," he said.

The 37-year-old said he analysed the Netherlands' game and found some flaws in their defense.

"The Netherlands are a good team having various ways to attack, but we found they have some defensive problems, we will try to take advantage of them," he said.

The Netherlands beat New Zealand 1-0 in their World Cup debut on Saturday.
