China's Su Bingtian, the first Asian-born sprinter to beat the 10.00 seconds mark, announced on Tuesday to skip 100m to concentrate on the 4x100m relay at the Asian athletics championships in Wuhan.

Su came third in a new Chinese record of 9.99 seconds in Eugene Grand Prix last week.

Su's teammate Zhang Peimeng, struggling with 10.18 seconds, will have a last shot at a world championship berth at the Asian meet.

The women's 100 meters in the June 3-7 meet will feature Chinese Wei Yongli, Chisato Fukushima of Japan and Chinese Tao Yujia, who finished 1-2-3 in last championships.

The 110m hurdles field includes Asian Games gold medalist Xie Wenjun of China, who clocked 13.36 seconds in Shanghai Diamond League, and Jumras Rittidet from Thailand and Siddhant Thingalya of India.

Asian record-holder Mutaz Essa Barshim, his brother Muamer Aissa Barshim and China's Zhang Guowei will lead the men's high jump contenders.

The top-three finishers of the men's triple jump in 2014 Incheon Asian Games, Cao Shuo and Dong Bin, both of China, and Kim Deok-Hyeon form South Korea, will be in action at Wuhan.
