The international hotel brand unveils luxury seaside sanctuary in Qinhuangdao.

On May 8, international luxury hotel brand Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts opens the doors to its newest property in the Haigang district of Qinhuangdao, a small seaside city located about 300 kilometers east of Beijing that is renowned for its blue waters and golden beaches.

Situated in one of China's more popular summer destinations, Shangri-La Hotel, Qinhuangdao has a prime year-round location along Bohai Bay and is a 15-minute drive from the train station, where travelers can connect to Tianjin and Beijing in under two hours via high-speed links.

The Golden Dream Bay, a high-density residential beachfront community and entertainment zone, is home to the 23-story Shangri-La Hotel, Qinhuangdao.

The natural wonders surrounding the hotel come through in the hotel through its use of golden tones and cream hues in each of the hotel's 330 guestrooms and suites, which are the largest in the city. Spaciously sized at between 45 to 135 square meters and utilizing full-length windows that look out to the sea, the rooms feature a contrast of light and dark woods, a plush sofa, ample desk space, a marble-appointed bathroom and Shangri-La amenities and conveniences. Most rooms offer a balcony overlooking Bohai Bay.

From the 20th floor to the 22nd, Horizon Club rooms provide an even higher standard of accommodation that is matched by personalized service from the concierge team at the spacious Horizon Club Lounge on the 23rd floor. Guests in Horizon Club rooms can enjoy breakfast, all-day refreshments, use of the club's meeting facilities and sea views from the terrace. Like all Shangri-La properties worldwide, Wi-Fi is complimentary and accessible throughout the hotel and available in its limousines.

The hotel's wellness facilities comprise a 25-meter indoor free-form pool, a fully equipped gym as well as Jacuzzi and spa with nine treatment rooms. Bicycle rentals afford guests the option to take a leisurely ride on the beach path or around the waterfront neighborhood.

The hotel's restaurants offer a culinary journey through Northeast China. At Cafe Qin, exposed kitchens create an animated experience for family-style dining from the best buffets in the city. The restaurant leads to the hotel's garden, which seats 60 people for alfresco gatherings and has stunning sea views.

The contemporarily designed Qin Xiang Ge Chinese Restaurant - accented by dark ebony paneling and maroon upholstery - specializes in traditional northeastern as well as Cantonese dishes. Chinese Executive Chef Alex Guo brings the freshest seafood to guests of Qin Xiang Ge, which has 15 private rooms, half of which face Bohai Bay.

At the heart of Shangri-La Hotel, Qinhuangdao is its elegant lobby lounge with panoramic vistas of Bohai Bay. The sunbathed venue is perfect for enjoying live music, light dining and afternoon tea.

On the second and third floors are eleven function rooms, including a Grand Ballroom, which is the city's largest at over 1,658 square meters. All meeting rooms are equipped with the latest technology to host conferences or celebrations.
