Flooding and lightening have killed five people, while another six remained unaccounted for as heavy rain hit southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region since Friday.

The downpour has flooded 22 counties, forcing 6,645 people to relocate as hundreds of homes in the region have collapsed or destroyed. The rainfall has also damaged 25,460 hectares of crops.

Authorities estimated the rain has so far caused a 321 million yuan of losses to the autonomous region.
