They have sent 1,600 tents, 10,000 blankets and 327 electric generators to quake-hit areas, according to Vice Minister of Commerce Qian Keming.

On Wednesday, water purifying plants and first-aid kits were dispatched aboard 18 military and civilian planes, said Qian at a press conference.

"Since 2014, China has provided humanitarian aid worth 1.3 billion yuan to nearly 40 countries in Asia, Africa and Oceania," the vice minister added.

The earthquake death toll in Nepal has reached 7,652.

The group of government departments includes the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Civil Aviation Administration, the General Staff Headquarters of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) and the PLA's General Logistics Department.
