Chinese premier meets HK scholar

Premier Li Keqiang on Monday met Jao Tsung-I, a famous Hong Kong expert on traditional Chinese culture.

Jao, 98 is an emeritus professor at the University of Hong Kong and member of the Central Research Institute of Culture and History. He is a respected figure in the humanities field, including archaeology, literature and history.

Li congratulated Jao for his art exhibition held in the National Museum of China. Jao was praised as the pride of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

The premier said he hoped Jao could continue to suggest ways to develop culture and contribute more to the promotion of people-to-people exchanges between Hong Kong and the mainland, as well as China and the world.
