China's Ministry of Civil Affairs says relief supplies including clothes, food and medicine, are being sent to Xigaze Prefecture in the Tibet following the Nepal earthquake. [Special coverage]

The central government allocated thick tents, padded coats, quilts, cots, and sleeping bags. The China Red Cross has raised the disaster emergency response system to level-3 and dispatched more than a million yuan's worth of relief materials.

The Xigaze Red Cross in Tibet has also mobilized to help with relief work. The National Development and Reform Commission says funds up to 30 million yuan will be allocated to support post-quake restoration in Tibet.
