China favored for top clubs, stars' visit

China is becoming the most favorite country for world top clubs and stars to visit with the country's economy expanding and sports fans spiralling.

Former NBA star Tracy McGrady is taking part in a commercial activity in Beijing on Thursday. The former Raptors and Rockets player enjoys popularity in China for being a teammate of Chinese center Yao Ming in Houston.

McGrady also played in Chinese basketball league CBA for a season in Qingdao, Shandong province.

English soccer icon David Beckham is one of the most frequent foreign visitor to China in recent years, mainly for commercial promotions. Beckham has been named the ambassador of China's youngsters soccer program last year.

China is attractive to European top soccer clubs and also NBA league. It's confirmed that Real Madrid, AC Milan and Inter Milan will visit China this summer to attend international Champions Cup China games in July.

The Milan derby will be staged in Shenzhen on July 25. In 2011, AC Milan and Inter Milan played the Italian Super Cup game in Beijing's Bird's Nest, China National Stadium. The match turned out quite profitable for both clubs and organizer as fans flocked to the packed stadium.

Inter Milan will play against Real Madrid in Guangzhou on July 27. Two days later, Real Madrid will have a match in Shanghai playing AC Milan.

NBA China games are an usual arrangement in recent years as part of the sports promotion in China, where has the largest overseas fan base for NBA.
