Approximately 564,000 people in Beijing have visited graves as of 2:30 pm of Saturday, according to the Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau, the Beijing Youth Daily reported.

This year, many cemeteries and memorial parks are making efforts to promote eco-friendliness by offering alternatives to burning paper for people to honor their deceased loved ones. For example, Babaoshan People's Cemetery in Shijingshan district allows people to write messages that can be displayed on an LED screening in the park.

Deputy director of the Beijing Funeral Association Jiang Xiaogang addressed concerns regarding limited resources for graves in the city, saying the problem did not exist. He said the storage space for ashes at 33 cemeteries at the municipal level can last for up to 50 years, accommodating approximately 80,000 deaths each year.
