China's first professional fraud fighter, Wang Hai, has said his actions have nothing to do with justice maintenance, and earning money should be his utmost priority.

45-year-old Wang Hai was born in Qingdao, east China's Shandong Province. He started his professional fraud fighting occupation in March, 1995, when he earned double indemnity from intentionally purchased fake Sony earplugs.

His fraud fighting business was first operated by his own team, but is now more involved with governmental supports and cooperation.

Wang now runs four companies with 30 employees located in Beijing, Tianjin, Nanjing and Shenzheng respectively. The companies operate businesses in three areas, namely earning indemnity from intentionally purchased counterfeited goods; providing anti-counterfeiting and right-protection services for individuals and companies.

Wang provided a service to clients at a price of 300,000 yuan initially, and he earned more than 4,000,000 yuan from 2,000,000 counterfeit goods purchased last year.

So far they have received more than 1,100 cases and are expected to receive compensations worth 10,000,000 yuan.

With the development of e-commerce in a comparatively uncompleted supervising mechanism, more counterfeited goods appeared on the market and thus stimulated the growth of professional fraud fighters like Wang Hai.

According to Wang, his fraud fighting action is similar to business dealings and is built on the base of fair exchange.

For professional fraud fighters like Wang, cracking down on counterfeit goods is not for the sake of justice maintenance. They positioned their fraud fighting actions as an occupation and tried their best to make a living out of it.
